Team Spirit

The Pittsburgh Steeler Season is upon us!

My neighbor asked me to make some scarves that her family could wear to the games.

Remember back in school when we made the paper chains from construction paper for the Christmas Tree - that is what I did to make this scarf.

I used Caron One Pound skeins. The color "Sunflower" is the perfect Steeler gold.
Of course you could make these for any team using their colors.

How do I link them together you ask. I use a circular needle and cast on as many stitches as I will need and put it through the previous link.

I hope these scarves bring the Steelers some luck this year!
Go Steelers!

Wondrous Luxuries

Knitting by Pam and Donna are very excited to announce that you can now buy some of our knitted and crocheted items at Wondrous Luxuries Artist Boutique and Gift Shop in the South Hills.

This is their store front located at 300 Mt. Lebanon Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15234.

Wondrous Luxuries supports local and made in the USA products. You will also find their line of Wondrous Luxuries lotions and body care products in their store.

Right now we have our hanging kitchen towels in their shop.

Donna and I are planning on keeping them well stocked with not only pet towels .. but other kitchen themed towels as well as seasonal towels. Next month they will have some fall and halloween towels.

We also have some of the Yorganza Scarves in their shop. I blogged about these scarves at the beginning of July.

In the fall we plan on taking some of our knitted hats to their store.

Please check out Wondrous Luxuries and support a local business!

For Sale - Craft Items

The McClure Ave Yard Sale is just a couple days away. I did see in some local newspapers that this is the weekend for yard sales in Swissvale. Several streets are having sales.

At my house you will find some craft items for sale. Since we now have a knitting business I do not have the time to do as much cross stitch as I would like.

Pictured here you will see what I have for sale.

Two cross stitch kits and some small round frames.
Here are some kits that I acquired somewhere along the way.
Here are some holiday frames - stitch something to put in them.
Makes great gifts!
Since the last picture was holiday related. I am going to show you something that will be at the sale that is made using wine glasses.

Aren't these cute! Just another way of recycling everyday items.

A Happy Customer

There is nothing like a happy customer ... no matter what age.

Our friend Anne bought a snake from us for her granddaughter, Norah.

Here are some pictures of Norah with the snake. Isn't she a cutie!

Anne said that Norah is fascinated by the snakes tongue.
It seems that Norah is making friends with the snake.

If you would like to be featured on our blog wearing things that you bought from us ... send us a picture. I'd be happy to post it.

Trash to Treasure

Your trash could be someone someone elses treasure. We've all heard that old saying.
Instead of throwing something away ... you could find another way to use it.

Pictured below is a yarn bombed crock. I have four of these crocks sitting in my basement. I can't remember how I got them ... but I did and they are in good shape. So this crock is going to be used to store things in our knitting studio.

This technique gives the crock a textured look. Donna crocheted around this crock with tweed yarn. I have some t-shirt yarn that will match the bathroom I just had renovated. We will have to get on that project real soon.

Take a look at this. One of my Facebook friends sent this to me. It is a sweater made into a pet bed. I think this is a great idea for sweaters that have seen better days.
We have four days and counting to the McClure Ave Yard Sale. I hope we are inspiring you to come to the sale and finding some treasures.
