Getting the Word Out

If you are operating a business part of your job is to get the word out about what you do.  Networking is a wonderful way of doing that. We (Pam) belongs to an organization called WBN – Women’s Business Network – Waterfront Chapter.

This past Thursday it was my turn to present Knitting by Pam and Donna to the group. I presented some of the items we are making for the spring craft shows.

After the presentation I had the group pose for this picture along with their favorite knitting item that I showed them.

Another way to promote your business is to get in front of the audience you want to reach. We do that by going to craft and vendor shows.

Here is a list of where we will be in March:

March 2 - 9a to 3p - Homestead United Methodist Church - 4231 Shady Ave - Munhall, PA 15120
March 9 - 10a - 3p - Skyview #4 VFC Spring Craft Show - 660 Noble Drive - West Mifflin, PA 15122

I will update this list as we add shows.

Please come out and see us ... we would love to meet you.

Watch for our March 1 posting … it will be all about Easter. Let me give you a sneak peek of what you will see.

Check back March 1!

Knitting for Baby

Are you looking for the perfect baby gift? We can help you.
We understand that most people want baby gifts custom made. Here are some examples of our knitted and crocheted baby gifts we have made.

Here is a baby sweater, hat and bootie set in white. The pink sweater is called a surprise baby jack. It is called that because the sweater is made all in one piece. Very few seams. You can also see two baby booties .... one is sky blue the other tan and white.

This is called a Blanket Buddy. This is for the baby to love. This cuddly toy is made all in one piece with its face stitched on.

Pictured here are burp cloths. These are made from 100% cotton yarn. Very washable.

There is nothing like a baby hat. Here we have a group photo of some of the hats we have made. These hats are made from either 100% cotton or light-weight acrylic yarn.

The next pictures are close up of a couple of the hats.

This flower hat is made from 100% cotton yarn.

This is a Penguin hat that is great for the little Pittsburgh Penguins fan.

Easter is coming! What little girl wouldn't look adorable in this hat.

Let us know if you are interested in any of these baby gifts and remember if you need a custom handmade baby gift let us know. We will work with you to make the perfect gift for the new baby in your life.

Monthly Knitting Group

Have you ever wanted to learn to knit? We can teach you how.

We have been meeting with a mother and two daughters to teach them. They have come a long way.  In fact this year we decided to make a sampler afghan. This way they can learn various stitches and patterns.

Here is a picture of our group. Two of the ladies are camera shy and would only let me take a picture of their hands. As you can see Mom is looking at her square.

You can work along with our group if you would like.  Once a month I will put a new square on our blog for anyone out there who is a knitter and would like to follow along by making a square.

The first month will be the basket weave square.

Here is the pattern for square one:

Cast on 40 stitches on size 8 needles.

Row 1 - Knit
Row 2 - 6 - K4, P4; repeat to the end of the row.
Row 7 - Knit
Row 8 - 12 - P4, K4; repeat to the end of the row.

Repeat rows 1-12 until the square measures 10 inches from the beginning. Bind off.

Happy Knitting!

Knitting by Pam and Donna would like to welcome you to our blog.

Knitting By Pam and Donna is operated by two sisters, Pam and Donna. We make knitted and crocheted items to use and wear. In this blog you will see some examples of our work.

The purpose of our blog is to keep our readers informed on new items we are making. We also want to take you along on some of the adventures we embark on through our craft.

My goal is to update our blog at least once a week. We will continually update our craft show schedule so you know where you can visit us.

We would love to hear from you as well. Our email is pamdonnaknits@yahoo.com. You can also find us on Facebook. If you like what you see here please like us on our Facebook page.

So as promised, we would like to show you some examples of our work.

This picture show our number one sellers - the scrubbie. We also make scrubbers - a larger version of the scrubbie as well as flower scrubbies - that is a scrubbie with cotton crocheted around it so you have a rough and soft side.

Pictured here are a few other kitchen items we make. The three types of scrubbies are show here along with a dish cloth, potholder and towels you can hang from anything in your kitchen.

Now on to some hats. Pictured here is the button hat. Some of the buttons are vintage and some are not. This is a warm hat as it is made with chunky yarn and does cover your ears.

This is what I call the cable hat. Right above the brim is a cable that makes it easy for fitting almost anyones head.

This is a very cute hat with the flower attached to it. In the middle of the flower is a small button.

This is a display photo from one of our craft shows. This shows a really nice example of most of the hats we make.

Now for those of you who don't like hats - I would be one of those people - we have the headband. We started making these at the end of the craft show season last year and they seemed to be very popular.

I will save some other pictures for future blogs.
As the spring craft show season begins I will post other things we are making and let you know where we will be.

Stay Warm!
