Additional Sampler Squares

This week I am getting ready to go to our knitting group where we meet our friends in Homestead. That got me to thinking that I have not posted the knitting square patterns for the sampler afghan for a while.

I have three squares in this blog so this will get everyone up to date and keep you out of trouble.

Tile Stitch

Cast on 40 stitches on a size 8 needle.

1^st Row (right side)  – K4,  *p2, k4; rep from * to end.

2^nd Row – P4, *k2, p4; rep from * to end,

Rep the last 2 rows twice more.

7^th Row – As 2^nd row.

8^th Row – K4,  *p2, k4; rep from * to end.

Rep these 8 rows until you have 10 inches.

Bind off all stitches.

Lattice Stitch Square

Cast on 43 Stitches on size 8 needles

Row 1 – (right side) – K3, *p1, k5; repeat from * to last four stitches, p1, k3.

Row 2 – P2, *k1, p1, k1, p3; repeat from * to last five stitches, k1, p1, k1, p2.

Row 3 – K1, * p1, k3, p1, k1; repeat from * to end.

Row 4 – K1, * p5, k1; repeat from  * to end.

Row 5 – As third row.

Row 6 – As second row.

Repeat these six rows until square measures 10 inches.

Bind off all stitches.

Alternating Triangle Square

Cast on 40 Stitches on size 8 needles

Row 1 – (right side) *P1, k4; repeat from * to end.

Row 2^nd and 3^rd Rows - * P3, K2; repeat from * to end.

Row 4 - * P1, k4; repeat from * to end.

Row 5 - * K4, p1; repeat from * to end.

Row 6^th and 7^th Rows - * K2, p3; repeat from * to end.

Row 8 – As 5^th row.

Repeat these 8 rows until the square measures 10 inches.

Bind off all stitches.
