Have you ever wanted to learn to knit? We can teach you how.
We have been meeting with a mother and two daughters to
teach them. They have come a long way.
In fact this year we decided to make a sampler afghan. This way they can
learn various stitches and patterns.
You can work along with our group if you would like. Once a month I will put a new square on our blog for anyone out there who is a knitter and would like to follow along by making a square.
The first month will be the basket weave square.
Here is the pattern for square one:
Cast on 40 stitches on size 8 needles.
Row 1 - Knit
Row 2 - 6 - K4, P4; repeat to the end of the row.
Row 7 - Knit
Row 8 - 12 - P4, K4; repeat to the end of the row.
Repeat rows 1-12 until the square measures 10 inches from the beginning. Bind off.
Happy Knitting!
