Bottle Cap Trivets

During the winter months Knitting by Pam and Donna are always looking for new patterns to make for the upcoming year.
Donna was looking through her pattern books and found something to make using metal bottle caps.

The first thing we had to do was find a place where we could find metal bottle caps. So a Facebook friend suggested going to the Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse. As you can see we did and we found some there.

Donna came home and started crocheting covers to go over the bottle caps ... she sewed 19 caps together and came up with the bottle cap trivets.

Donna used cotton yarn and of course metal bottle caps so these trivets can definitely be used for placing hot items on.
This will be a new item for us this year at various events we will be participating in this spring and summer.
