Pop-Up Party at the Pump House

This weekend is the Pop-Up Party at the Pump House.

This is a special weekend due to the ribbon cutting event to open the final leg of the Great Allegheny Passage. Bikers will finally be able to make the trip from the Point in Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C.

The Market hours will be Saturday noon - 10p and on Sunday from 10a - 2p.

Our last email about the event said that over 40 vendors will be participating in the Pop-Up Party at the Pump House.

Take a look at the flyer for the event.

Donna and I participate in the Pump House Market once a month as you can see from the picture below.

Please stop by and support some of the many local crafters and vendors who will be at the Pop-Up Party at the Pump House.

I hope to see you there!

Poufs

Ever since I bought a pair of poufs at Target for our knitting studio it was my goal to make one. For those of you who don't know what a pouf is .... you might remember it as an ottoman or a hassock.

First of all let me tell you about the yarn we used. I used Malabrigo - Arco Iris that I bought from Knit One in Squirrel Hill. I used very big needles and thick yarn.

Donna used a bulky weight yarn from Willow Yarns call Burrow. Her pouf is crocheted.

Now for the unveiling of our poufs!

This is the pouf that Pam made.

This is the pouf that Donna made.
We are very happy with the way the poufs turned out. What do you think? Which is your favorite?
Drop us a line and let us know.

National Knit in Public Week

This week is National Knit in Public Week. As luck would have it Donna and I have several events scheduled where we will be knitting in public.

The first event will be at Panera Bread at the Waterfront. This is where we meet our friends for their knitting lesson. I do have them working on their square of the month, which I will have at the end of this blog.

On Thursday we meet our Swissvale Library Friends for our monthly knitting group.

At the end of the week we will be at the Market at the Pump House in the Waterfront where we will be knitting all weekend long. I will be doing a blog on this event later in the week.

As promised, here is the square of the month - The Woven Stitch.

Dressing Up!

Look who’s dressing up and ready to hit the town … here are the dish soap dresses.

Donna found a pattern book with all these dresses at Joann's and told me that I have to have this. Apparently some of our neighbors have to have them as well. Two of these dresses are spoken for and I have to make another one.

I am using either Lily’s Sugar n’ Cream or Peaches and Cream yarn. This yarn is made from 100% cotton.

Speaking of dressing up. I have made another tea cozy. One of my Hall China Tea Pots is sporting the Berries and Cream Tea Cozy. This cozy is also made from 100% cotton using Lily’s Sugar n' Cream yarn.
